London Unity League has been named the winner of the 2026 Pride in Football Award at a national ceremony held in London last week. The award recognises the outstanding contribution of organisations in promoting inclusion, diversity, and community through the sport of football.
We were selected from a shortlist of twelve organisations across the United Kingdom, each doing remarkable work in their communities. Receiving this recognition is a proud moment for everyone involved in the league — our players, managers, referees, volunteers, and committee members.
In the judges' citation, they noted the league's consistent growth over the past four years, its visible presence at Pride events, and its commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome regardless of their background, identity, or experience level.
On behalf of the entire league, I would like to say thank you to the Football Association, to the award organisers, and to every person who has ever played, volunteered, or supported what we do here. This award belongs to the whole community.
The trophy will be on display at our next committee meeting and will be brought along to key matches throughout the season. We hope it serves as a reminder of why we do what we do.
