Last weekend's Summer Tournament was, by any measure, one of our finest days as a league. Held at Ladywell Arena in Lewisham on a warm and sunny Saturday, the event attracted over one hundred and twenty players across fourteen teams.
The format this year was a round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds, with prizes for the winner, runner-up, and best newcomer team. The relaxed, social atmosphere made it an ideal way to welcome new members and catch up with familiar faces ahead of the new season.
A particular highlight was the inclusion of a mixed five-a-side section, which proved enormously popular and is something we are keen to develop further in future events. Several players who took part have since expressed interest in registering clubs for the main league.
Food and refreshments were provided by community caterers and a portion of the proceeds has been donated to our chosen charity partner for 2026. We will announce the final amount raised in the coming weeks.
